SBVC Gets Healthy In Win Over Victor Valley

The San Bernardino Valley College women's soccer team scored twice in a four-minute span in the first half, then cruised the rest of the way as it knocked off Victor Valley College 2-0 Friday afternoon.

With the Wolverines nursing some bumps and bruises after Tuesday's 2-1 loss at Chaffey, SBVC shook up its player rotation, getting more players involved in the game early on. And one of the players getting a chance for more minutes opened the scoring in the 20th minute. Shyla Hargrave netted her first goal of the season, running toward the back post to head in a corner kick from Caitlyn Sauceda.

In the 23rd minute, it was Sauceda's turn to score. She took a through ball on the left side from Karen Rivera and slotted it in the net.

The attack was almost all Wolverines in the game, as they fired 24 shots at the VVC goal. Meanwhile, the Rams only had five chances at the SBVC net - all in the second half - with Taylor Milner getting two saves in relief.
