Wolverines, Mesa Battle to Scoreless Draw

Two of the top teams in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference traded blows Friday afternoon at San Bernardino Valley College, but neither team could land a knockout blow, as the Wolverines and San Diego Mesa battled to a scoreless tie in women's soccer.

The Wolverines had chances in the first half, forcing goaltender Alyssa Warner to make five of her six saves in the game in the opening 45 minutes. And the Wolverines' Morgan Simmang hit the upper corner of the goal in the second half and had the shot bounce out in the Wolverines' best chance of the final half.

Meanwhile, the SBVC defense kept a tight check on the Olympians. Goaltender Vanessa Casillas made two saves for the Wolverines.
