Wolverines Ground Comets in Conference Opener

Nayeli Sandoval scored in the fourth minute and five other Wolverines' players scored against a road-weary Palomar team, as SBVC opened Pacific Coast Athletic Conference play with a 6-0 victory Friday afternoon at home.

The game was delayed 45 minutes as Palomar was stuck in traffic en route to San Bernardino.

Savannah Mendoza, Belinda Newsom, Caitlyn Sauceda, Karen Jacobs and Maria Carino also scored for the Wolverines, with Jacobs adding an assist as well. Monica Garcia was credited with two assists.

Goaltenders Vanessa Casillas and Kerstin Lecon split time in goal for SBVC, with Lecon gatherirng in the only two saves necessary for the shutout.
