Wolverines Use Big First Half to Beat Desert

Evelyn Findlay scored twice in the first 26 minutes as the San Bernardino Valley College women's soccer team beat College of the Desert 3-0 Friday afternoon.

Findlay was sprung on a breakaway in the seventh minute, then again in the 26th minute, getting the only goals the Wolverines (6-1 overall, 2-0 in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference) would need. Tracy Martinez scored in first half injury time for the final goal of the game.

In the second half, the Wolverines fired 10 shots on the Desert goal, but were turned away each time. In all, the Wolverines shot the ball 31 times toward the Desert net. Meanwhile, goaltenders Natalie Carreon and Ann-Marie O'Connell each played a half for their sixth clean sheet of the season.
