SBVC Women's Soccer: Magana commits to California State Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo

SBVC Women's Soccer graduate Julissa Magana has committed to California State Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo.

Magana a Bloomington High School girls' soccer standout started in all 45 games for SBVC during the 2014 and 2015 seasons.  For her efforts as a Wolverine she was named, 1st Team All Foothill conference both seasons, NSCAA All-West Region and NSCAA Academic All-American as well. 

Magana suffered a knee injury in the spring of her sophomore season and sat out the 2016 soccer season rehabbing her knee.  The fall of 2017 will mark her return to collegiate soccer as a redshirt junior.

The Valley College Women's Soccer Team finished the season ranked 8th in the nation by the NSCAA, ending the year with a 19-1-4 overall record and a 12-0-3 conference record. They were rewarded with a #5 seed in the Southern California Regional Playoffs. As a reward for their eighth Conference Championship, the team was bestowed with the Conference Coach of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year honors as well as four first team All-Conference players.

California State Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo is a Division I institution located in San Luis Obispo, California. The Mustangs are coached by longtime head coach, Alex Crozier who has an overall coaching record of 272-159-47. In the 2016 season, the Mustangs went 6-10-3 on the season and 1-5-2 in Big West conference play.
