SBVC WOMEN'S SOCCER: GILDO-CEBALLOS SIGNS LETTER OF INTENT

SBVC Women's Soccer sophomore midfielder Alondra Gildo-Ceballos (Fontana High School) has signed a letter of intent with New Mexico Highlands University.

Gildo-Ceballos a two-year starter for the Wolverines participated in 23 games for SBVC in 2016, scoring 7 goals and notching 10 assists. Gildo-Ceballos was named 1st Team All _Pacific Coast Conference in 2016 and was an All-Conference award recipient as well in 2015 as a freshman.

The Valley College Women's Soccer Team finished the season ranked 8th in the nation by the NSCAA, ending the year with a 19-1-4 overall record and a 12-0-3 conference record. They were rewarded with a #5 seed in the Southern California Regional Playoffs. As a reward for their eighth Conference Championship, the team was bestowed with the Conference Coach of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year honors as well as four first team All-Conference players.

New Mexico Highlands University is located in Las Vegas, New Mexico. The Cowboys play at Perkins Stadium/ Michael Messina Field and the team is coached by 2nd year head coach, Oscar Mendoza and assistant coach, Bianca Contreras a Valley Soccer alum and member of the 2010 Valley College State Championship team. In the 2016 season, the Cowboys went 3-9 in conference play, finishing in 12th place with an overall record of 3-12-1. New Mexico Highlands is an NCAA Division II institution whom plays in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
