SBVC Women’s Soccer: Trejo signs letter of intent

SBVC Women's Soccer sophomore defender Tirzah Trejo (Redlands East Valley) has signed a letter of intent with Cal Poly Pomona.

Trejo participated in 21 games for SBVC in 2015, playing a role in all 14 shutouts. Her 4 assists on the season all came in key moments, including the game at Santa Barbara where her assist led to the final goal that put the game out of reach. Trejo was selected 2nd team All-Foothill Conference in 2015.

The team finished the season ranked 7th in the nation by the NSCAA, ending the year with a 16-3-3 overall record and a 6-1-1 conference record. They were rewarded with a #5 seed in the Southern California Regional Playoffs. As a reward for their seventh Conference Championship, the team was bestowed with the Conference MVP award, four first team All-Conference honors and four second team All-Conference honors.

Cal Poly Pomona is located in Pomona, California, which is about 25 miles east of Los Angeles and only about 30 miles west of San Bernardino Valley. The CPP Broncos play at Kellogg Field and the team is coached by 1st year head coach, Jay Mason. In the 2015 season, the Broncos went 6-5-1 in conference play finishing 5th, with an overall record of 9-7-2. Cal Poly Pomona is in the California Collegiate Athletic Association of the NCAA Division II.
