SBVC Women’s Soccer: De Jongh signs letter of intent

SBVC Women's Soccer sophomore defender Taylor De Jongh (Redlands Citrus Valley) has signed a letter of intent with Goshen College.

De Jongh participated in 18 games for SBVC in 2015, being a key component in all 14 shutouts. Her best game of the season was at home versus Grossmont, scoring the game winner. De Jongh had started her freshman year as a forward, eventually making the transition to defender.

The team finished the season ranked 7th in the nation by the NSCAA, ending the year with a 16-3-3 overall record and a 6-1-1 conference record. They were rewarded with a #5 seed in the Southern California Regional Playoffs. As a reward for their seventh Conference Championship, the team was bestowed with the Conference MVP award, four first team All-Conference honors and four second team All-Conference honors.

Goshen College is located in Goshen, Indiana, which is about 120 miles east of Chicago and about 15 miles south of the Michigan-Indiana border. The Goshen Maple Leafs play at the Goshen College Soccer Complex, and the team is coached by 2nd year head coach, Scott Gloden. In the 2015 season, the Maple Leafs went 1-6-2 in conference play finishing 9th, with an overall record of 5-11-2. Goshen College is in the Crossroads League of NAIA.
