SBVC Women’s Soccer grabs 3rd shutout in 4 games, blanks Huskies, 4-0

SBVC Women's Soccer (3-0-1) got right back into it, as they continued their home dominance, limiting the Monterey Park East Los Angeles Huskies (0-2) to only two shots all afternoon, as the home side won, 4-0.

SBVC continued their assault on the opposition with another shutout victory, the third of the season, scoring four goals from four separate players and adding another loss to the Huskies.

SBVC received their third clean sheet of the season, this time from freshman goalkeeper Arianna Rodriguez (La Quinta H.S) who played the full 90 minutes of the match. Rodriquez had an amazing save in the 33rd minute play and was uncontested for the remainder of the game.

SBVC was quick with their attack, scoring the first goal of the game in the tenth minute of play from sophomore forward Aleyah Coleman (Palm Springs H.S.) with the assist by freshman midfielder Alondra Gildo-Ceballos (Fontana H.S.). SBVC's second goal of the game came from a penalty kick delivered by sophomore midfielder Julissa Magana (Bloomington H.S.) in the 37th minute of play. SBVC ended the first half of play with a lead of 2-0.

The Wolverines remained persistent, applying several more shots on the Huskies goalkeeper the entire second half of the game. Gildo-Ceballos was able to provide another beautiful assist to sophomore forward Mariana Valenciana-Madrigal (Jurupa Valley H.S.) making the score 3-0 at the 82nd minute. Less than three minutes afterwards, Gildo-Cebellos scored the fourth and final goal of the game with the assist coming from Valenciana-Madrigal. The final score between SBVC and East LA was 4-0.

SBVC's next game is September 11th at Mt. San Antonio and their next home game will be September 18th against San Diego Mesa at 4 p.m.
