SBVC Women’s Soccer scores lopsided victory over Imperial Valley, 14-0

SBVC Women's Soccer (1-0) kick-started the 2015 season at home with an impressive showing, five players scored multiple goals, including three starters, and three players with multiple assists in a 14-0 win over the Imperial Valley Arabs (0-1).

SBVC received a clean sheet from three different keepers, starting sophomore goalkeeper Savannah Chadd (Murrieta Mesa) played the first 26 minutes and then handed it off to sophomore goalkeepers Joscelyn Sanchez (Bloomington) and freshman Dacia Melendez (Phelan Serrano).  

SBVC got off to an early start scoring their first goal within the first minute of play by sophomore midfielder Amairany Rosales (Rialto H.S.) assisted by sophomore midfielder Jenny Guyett (Redlands Citrus Valley). Less than two minutes later, Rosales scored again with an incredible assist by sophomore midfielder Julissa Magana (Bloomington H.S.), giving SBVC a 2-0 lead.

SBVC continued their pace of scoring goals with one in the sixth minute of play when sophomore forward Leandra Garlinger (Riverside John Wesley North) connected with sophomore forward Aleyah Coleman (Palm Springs H.S.) for the third goal.  Garlinger went on to score her first goal of the game, giving SBVC a 4-0 lead before the tenth minute of play.

Coleman quickly moved down the field and scored her second goal of the game and the fifth goal for SBVC in the 13th minute.  Less than two minutes after Coleman's goal, freshman forward Baylee Williams (Beaumont H.S.) provided a beautiful assist to sophomore forward Mariana Valenciana-Madrigal (Jurupa Valley H.S.) giving SBVC a commanding 6-0 lead over the Arabs.

SBVC continued their attack by scoring their next two goals in less than one minute apart from each other.  Freshman midfielder Alondra Gildo-Ceballos (Fontana H.S.) scored her first goal of the game with the assist from freshman midfielder Audrey Salas (Moreno Valley H.S.).  Quickly following Gildo-Ceballos was freshman forward Berenise Morales (Fontana Henry J. Kaiser) scoring 50 seconds later with the assist from Williams, expanding the lead to 8-0.
The home side grabbed their ninth goal from sophomore midfielder Claudia Zepeda (Cathedral City) with another tremendous assist from Salas.  Williams was able to provide herself with her first goal of the game and SBVC's tenth.  

Two more goals were scored for SBVC in the first half.  First by Gildo-Ceballos, her second of the day, with the assist from freshman defender Alicia Garcia (Bloomington H.S.) and then the first half concluded with another score from freshman forward Alondra Gutierrez (Thermal Coachella Valley) with the assist coming from freshman midfielder Jazlynn Martinez (Rialto W.A. Carter).  The score at halftime was 12-0.

Entering into the second half, SBVC was quick to get back on the board scoring their 13th goal of the game from Garlinger again with an incredible assist from Magana. Following SBVC's latest score, the team drastically changed the pace of the game only scoring one more goal from Zepeda which was provided by Gildo-Ceballos.  SBVC ended the game with an amazing 14 goals scored by 9 different players.

The next game for SBVC is on September 1st at Golden West and their next home game is September 8th against East Los Angeles with kickoff slated for 4 p.m.
