The San Bernardino Valley College women's basketball team's starting five helped set the tone Wednesday night from the opening tip. And then they kept up the pressure as they led the way as the Wolverines knocked off Chaffey College 55-42 on Wednesday night.

SBVC's defense held the Panthers to only 24.6 percent shooting from the field in the game, including a 2-for-13 second quarter.

Meanwhile, on the other end, the Wolverines' starting five accounted for all the SBVC points Wednesday night. Center DeAnne Pinota led the way with 16 points on 7-of-8 shooting from the field. Julianna Sanchez, who played the full game, added 13 points, while Destiny Alexander had 11 points and five assists.

Chaffey's Elyanna Rios led all scorers in the game with 22 points.
