Wolverines Wilt Under Imperial Valley Pressure

The San Bernardino Valley College women's basketball team could not figure out a pressure defense put on by Imperial Valley on Wednesday night, as the Arabs ran away in the second half with a 55-28 victory.

Imperial Valley put the pressure on the Wolverines in the third quarter, as SBVC could not find the basket. The Arabs outscored the Wolverines 15-3 in the quarter, with the only basket coming as a 3-pointer from Emani McMeans. SBVC was 1-for-17 shooting in the period. The Wolverines only made 17.2 percent of their shots on the night, as the Arabs' defense was constantly in their face.

The Arabs also controlled the boards as well, outrebounding the Wolverines 54-35 in the game. Destiny Salgado had 18 rebounds for the Arabs, while also scoring 18 points. Keren Hogue led all scorers with 19 points, and she added 12 rebounds.

McMeans was the leading scorer for the Wolverines, as she had 16 points. Tyease Bryson had 15 rebounds and three steals for SBVC.
