Wolverines Honored After Turnaround Season

After a disastrous 2016-17 season that saw the team win only one game, the San Bernardino Valley College women’s basketball team finished the 2017-18 season with a record of 15-13 and a trip to the Southern California Regional Playoffs.

And this week, the team was honored further with selections on the All-Pacific Coast Athletic Conference-North team.

Topping the list was sophomore guard Brianne Cheatum, who was selected to the first team. The Canyon Springs High grad led the team, averaging 18 points and 4.2 assists per game.

Brianne’s sister Brittian was chosen to the second team. She was second on the team, averaging 12.5 points per game, and pulling down 4.3 rebounds per game.

Earning honorable mentions were sophomores Aoloni Robinson (San Bernardino) and Ky Fantroy (Indian Springs).
