SBVC Women’s Basketball rolls over the Rams, 88-49

SBVC (9-6; 1-0) opened up Foothill Conference play with a dominant performance from beginning to end against the Victorville Victor Valley Rams (4-13; 0-1), 88-49.

Opened up the game on a 13-0 run, extending that run to a 25-4 lead at the end of the first quarter and by the end of the first half SBVC was up by 32 points, 55-23. SBVC would eventually build up a 37 point lead halfway through the 3rd quarter, cruising to a 39 point win, 88-49.

SBVC dominated the inside as they had 52 points in the paint and also had huge contributions from the bench as they received 44 points off of the bench in the victory.

Freshman forward ReAndrene Jones (San Bernardino San Gorgonio) led SBVC with 16 points off of the bench, on 7 of 11 shooting and had nine boards and sophomore starting guard Jaysheana Martinez-Williams (San Bernardino Arroyo Valley) had 14 points on 6 of 14 shooting, going 2 for 7 from beyond the arc.

Sophomore forward Sydney Gray (Las Vegas (NV) Centennial) added 13 points, on 5 of 10 shooting, going 3 for 4 from the charity stripe, grabbing 9 boards and led the team with four steals and sophomore forward Xiomara Moya (Riverside Ramona) contributed 12 points on 5 of 8 shooting.

Sophomore guard Ashley Carson (Upland H.S.) led the team with two blocks and sophomore guard Jasmine Hickey (Riverside Martin Luther King, Jr.) led the team with six assists in the win.
