SBVC Women’s Basketball wins the Foothill Conference in lopsided win over the Rams, 89-43

SBVC (15-11; 9-0) grabbed their 11th win in 12 games as they collected their 9th Foothill Conference championship and two players collected a double-double on their way to punishing the Victorville Victor Valley Rams (3-22; 1-8), 89-43.

Freshman starting forward Sydney Gray (Las Vegas, NV Centennial) had a career night, scoring 30 points on 15 of 32 shooting and grabbing 18 total rebounds in an impressive performance. Sophomore starting forward Ameila Villegas (Jurupa Valley H.S.) also collected a double-double, with 16 points on 7 of 15 shooting and 11 boards in the victory.

Freshman guard Kiazha Ginwright (Riverside Martin Luther King Jr.) contributed 10 points on 5 of 11 shooting and grabbed 9 boards. Sophomore starting guard Dianna Snyder (Jurupa Valley H.S.) and sophomore starting guard Ashley Carson (Upland H.S.) both had 9 points each on the evening.

The game was close early, as the SBVC had to fight back to tie the game at 9-9 in the first five minutes of the game, but after that SBVC went on a 32-4 run over the next 12 minutes, putting the game away before halftime. SBVC dominated in the paint with 42 points in the paint compared to the Rams who only had 12. SBVC also owned 2nd chance points with 27 compared to the Rams six points.
