Luna Taking Softball Talents to Texas

For Patricia Levi Luna, all the hours on the road have paid off.

The sophomore has spent the past year driving from Victorville into San Bernardino Valley College to continue her education and softball career.

And after a year of classes at SBVC, she is leaving with her associate's degree and a chance to continue her softball career with a full scholarship to Midwestern State University, an NCAA Division II school in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Luna, who played shortstop and pitcher for SBVC, finished the season with numbers that put her among the top single-season performers in school history. She finished with .355 batting average and .628 slugging percentage - including 13 doubles and six home runs in 130 plate appearances.
