Wolverines Can't Convert Chances in Defeat

A first inning home run from Imperial Valley's Skyler Tyson was all the Arabs would need as they shut out San Bernardino Valley 6-0 Tuesday afternoon at Chavez Park.

The Wolverines put two runners on in each of the first five innings against Imperial Valley, but could not find a way to push a run across. Meanwhile, the Arabs scored twice in the first, third and sixth innings, taking advantage of five errors by SBVC.

Allysia Victorino led the Wolverines, reaching base three times in four plate appearances, going 2-for-3 with a hit by a pitch. The Wolverines also got hits from Gabrielle Ursuy, Seriena Rodriguez and Selena Roldan.

Tyson did the bulk of the damage for Imperial Valley, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and four RBI.

The Wolverines close out the home portion of their schedule at 1 p.m. Friday.
