SBVC (9-20; 4-4) dominated their opponent in a double header, double 5 inning mercy, in Foothill Conference play as they rolled over the Victorville Victor Valley Rams (2-24; 0-8), 15-1 and 14-6.
In game one, Victor Valley struck first, putting a run up in the top of the first, then SBVC unleashed a ferocious bottom of the second, where they brought 16 batters to the plate. Freshman first baseman Claire Garcia (Redlands The Grove School) led off the inning with a walk, then freshman left fielder Desiree Gonzalez (Redlands H.S.) clobbered a double to center and freshman second baseman Desiree Donley (San Bernardino Options 4 Youth) grabbed a bunt single to load the bases with no outs. The next three batters would walk with the bases loaded to score three runs and freshman right handed starting pitcher Terilyn Baude (8-15) (San Bernardino Cajon) punched a sacrifice fly to center to score another run. The big blow came later in the inning when sophomore short stop and leadoff batter Savanah Guzman (Redlands H.S.) dug in with the bases loaded again and punished a Grand Slam to left, making the score 11-1.
SBVC would add four more runs in the bottom of the fourth, with Guzman hitting a leadoff double to right and after a walk by freshman third baseman Alexandra Woods (Riverside John Wesley North) and hit-by-pitch from Baude, Guzman darted home on a single to left by freshman center fielder Erin Alvizo (Fontana Henry J. Kaiser). Woods would come home on a single to right by freshman left fielder Alexes Medina (San Bernardino San Gorgonio) and Gonzalez would bring the rest home on a single to left.
Victor Valley would add to their lead in the top of the third, with another run, to make the score 4-1, but that lead would not last as SBVC once again relied on a huge inning to rout the Rams. SBVC would bring 13 players up to bat, as eight batters would cross home plate in the first run through the lineup and freshman catcher Destiny Flores (Rialto Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower) would score twice in the inning. In the end, SBVC would total up five walks, four singles and a double, scoring nine runs.
SBVC would put the game out of reach in the bottom of the fourth, when SBVC scored four runs as Garcia would grab the leadoff walk and Gonzalez would follow that up with a walk of her own. Medina would get Garcia home on a fielder's choice and error by the Rams catcher and Guzman brought Gonzalez home on another fielder's choice.
Victor Valley would score two runs in the top of the fifth, but Baude buckled down in the circle and kept the game to a mercy.
