A year after not winning the conference championship in more than 20 years, the San Bernardino Valley College men's cross country team had something to prove on Friday in the inaugural Inland Empire Athletic Conference Championships.

Consider the point proven.

The Wolverines swept the top seven spots in the race at Chaffey College to win the first-ever IEAC title.

Alvaro Heredia led the field to the finish line, clocking in at 21 minutes, 21.9 seconds, leading a parade of Wolverines to the finish line.

Kevin Quinteros was the next Wolverine to cross, clocking in a 21:33.1. Jose Escalante was third, with a time of 21:56.6, while Fernando Duenas was fourth at 22:06.3. Eddie Perez-Sandoval crossed fifth at 22:12.4, closely follwed by Jeffory Phelps at 22:14.0, with Elvis Rojas King closing out the pack at 22:33.3, 14 seconds before a runner from another school crossed the line.
