Cross Country Team Post Sixth Place Finish at So Cal Preview

Sophomore Michael Ramirez finished third overall and the San Bernardino Valley College men's cross country team finished sixth at the Southern California Preview race last Friday in Cerritos.

Ramirez crossed the line of the four-mile race in a time of 20 minutes, 8.5 seconds, just .3 seconds out of second place and seven seconds behind the first place runner, Carson Bix of El Camino College.

Freshman Luis Garcia finished 28th in the field of 313 runners with a time of 21.05, while sophomore Mauricio Ramos was 46th at 21:13.6. Freshman Anthony Salgado was the fourth runner to cross the line for the Wolverines with a time of 21:42.8 and sophomore Carlos de la Torre was right behind him at 21:44.0.

The team is preparing for this weekend's Pacific Coast Athletic Conference preview, and has its work cut out for it if they want to defend their conference championship as San Diego Mesa won the Southern California Preview, finishing with a score of 90 in the team standings, while SBVC posted a score of 222.
