SBVC Men’s Cross Country takes 5th place at State Championship

The SBVC Men's Cross Country team took a fifth place finish at the CCCAA State Finals, the top individual finisher for SBVC placed 23rd in the four mile event, sophomore Douglas Palmer (Beaumont H.S.) with a time of 20:50.8.

SBVC collected a score of 202 points at this event, finishing 5 points ahead of Cuesta College and 123 points behind the winner, College of the Canyons. The event was held at Woodward Park in Fresno.

The next highest finisher was sophomore Justin Doyle (San Bernardino Cajon) placing 26th with a time of 20:53.7.

Finishing 47th was sophomore Anamacio Cardenas (Bloomington H.S.) with a time of 21:19.7 and placing 55th place was freshman Daniel Aguilera (Fontana Jurupa Hills) with a time of 21:23.8. Freshman Jose Escalante (Jurupa Valley H.S.) wrapped up the SBVC finishers with a time of 21:32.1, placing 55th.

Competing, but out of the top five for SBVC was freshman Alejandro Castellonos (Romoland Heritage) who finished in 72nd place and freshman Derek Barnett (Redlands East Valley) in 118th place.
