SBVC Men’s Track & Field has 7 Top Ten finishers in at CSULA Invitational

SBVC Men's Track & Field sent 21 student athletes to the Cal State LA Invitational. Of the 16 events at the Cal State LA Invitational, SBVC participated in 13 events, of which SBVC finished in the top ten in seven of those events.

SBVC claimed fourth place finisher in the 1500 meter run, as well as sixth place in the triple jump, seventh in the 4 x 400 meter hurdles, ninth place in the long jump, and tenth place in the 3000 meter run, the 400 meter hurdles, and the high jump.

 Finishing fourth in the 1500 meter run was freshman Oscar Caro (Norte Vista H.S.) who came in with a time of 3:58.92, three seconds ahead of his nearest competition. Finishing tenth in the 3000 meter run was freshman Anamacio Cardenas (Bloomington H.S.) who came in with a time of 8:57.51, two-and-a-half seconds ahead of his nearest competition. SBVC also finished 13th, 19th, 26th, 27th, 28th, and 61st in the 1500 meter run and 13th and 14th in the 3000 meter run.

 SBVC also claimed 6th in the triple jump with sophomore Darrian Frazier (Citrus Valley H.S.) who leapt a distance of 13.94 meters, just .39 meters farther than his nearest competition. SBVC sophomore Ryan Jones (Cajon H.S.) achieved 9th place in the long jump with a distance of 6.57 meters, just .01 meters farther than his nearest competition, while two other SBVC athletes claimed 18th and 29th place for the long jump.

 Frazier also tied for 10th in the high jump with a height of 1.78 meters against an opponent from Cal Poly Pomona while another SBVC athlete claimed 15th in the high jump.

 Finishing 10th in the 400 meter hurdles was freshman Johntae Course (A.B. Miller H.S.) who came in with a time of 57.13 and also claimed 16th in the 110 meter hurdles. The SBVC 4 x 400 relay team claimed 7th with a time of 3:27.62.
