SBVC Men's Track & Field will send two student athletes to the CCCAA Southern California Track & Field Prelims at Cerritos College on May 9th. The State Finals will take place a week later on May 15th and 16th at College of San Mateo.
Those that advanced from the SoCal Prelims to the finals include the top nine finalists, plus ties in the track events and in the field events, the top 12 finalists, plus ties.
Sophomore Douglas Palmer (Beaumont H.S.) the Pacific Coast Conference champion in the 1500 meter run was an automatic qualifier, finishing 7th at the SoCal Prelims in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:01.53.
Sophomore Demetrius Howard (San Bernardino Cajon) automatically qualified the Discus Throw was also an automatic qualifier, finishing 8th at the SoCal Prelims with a distance of 42.62 meters.
