Wolverines Thrash Coyotes in Home Conference Opener

Tony Vallejo had a pair of goals, and the San Bernardino Valley defense shut down the Cuyamaca offense for a 5-1 victory in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference home opener for the Wolverines.

Lance Diaz poked home a loose ball after a throw in bounced around in the penalty area in the fourth minute to open the scoring. And after giving up a goal to Jose Solario Duran in the 24th, the Wolverines took control.

Vallejo scored the first of his two goals in the 34th minute and Miguel Chavez added another just before half to give San Bernardino Valley a 3-1 advantage after 45 minutes.

The second half, the Wolverines dictated the pace, and added two more goals as well. Vallejo got his second in the 63rd minute, and Raymundo Zuniga shot one home while lying on the ground about five minutes later after winning a loose ball away from goaltender Connor McEwen.
