SBVC Uses Big First Half to Beat Barstow

The San Bernardino Valley College men's basketball team opened Wednesday night's game shooting at a torrid pace, and kept it up to open a 21-point halftime lead, allowing them to easily pull away from Barstow College for a 107-72 victory in an Inland Empire Athletic Conference game.

Barstow kept the game close in the opening minutes, as the Vikings' Daniel Christensen drained three consecutive three-pointers in the game's first four minutes. Unfortunatley for the Vikings, the Wolverines were doing the same on the other end. The Wolverines made 62.9 percent of their shots in the first half, including 10 of 20 shots from three-point range. SBVC ended the game making 54.1 percent of its shots.

Meanwhile, the Wolverines dominated the Vikings on the boards, outrebounding Barstow 45-24 in the game, with the Wolverines able to turn that into a 24-3 advantage on second-chance points.

Dominique Daniels led all scorers in the game with 27 points, along with six rebounds and six assists. Armon Muldrew added 16 points and six rebounds, while Brandon Thompson added 15 points. Anthony Bell also had 15 points, along with eight rebounds and five assists.

Christian Taylor led Barstow with 21 points, while Christensen ended the game with 19 points.
