Roman Silva, a 7-foot-1 center from Pomona's Diamond Ranch High School, will be making his way from San Bernardino Valley College to the Pac-12 this season.
The Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division co-player of the year has earned a scholarship to Oregon State for this fall, according to SBVC coach Quincy Brewer.
"We are very happy for Roman Silva," Brewer said. "He is a joy to coach as he values constructive criticism and truth."
Silva averaged 16.2 points and 7.9 rebounds per game, while shooting 69 percent from the field for the Wolverines last season, leading the team to a share of the North Division title. He also lost 40 pounds, and posted a 3.8 grade point average during his time at SBVC.
He becomes the third player from Coach Brewer's tenure to transfer to a Pac-12 school. Silva joins current professionals Charles Collison and Gerry Blakes to make the jump to the Pac-12.
The Wolverines are scheduled to open the 2019-20 season Nov. 1 at the Miramar Tournament.
