Second Half Surge Pushes Wolverines to Win

After leading for most of the first half, the San Bernardino Valley College men's basketball team went into the break trailing San Diego City by two points.

When the teams came back from the half, the Knights' lead didn't last long.

The Wolverines opened the second 20 minutes on a 14-2 run as they went on to beat San Diego City 112-92 at San Bernardino Valley College.

SBVC's offense was strong throughout the night, as they trailed 49-47 at the break, despite shooting 66.7 percent from the field in the half. The hot shooting got hotter in the second half, as the Wolverines made 71.4 percent of their shots as they pulled away early in the second half.

Eric Hancik led the offensive attack with 30 points on the night - making five of six 3-pointers - with Damani Washington close behind with 28 points. K'Lon Williams added 14 points off the bench while Nathan Pendarvis had 13 points and seven assists.

Joseph Riley and Adrian Byrd-Jelinek led the Knights with 18 points apiece. The Wolverines' clamped down on Byrd-Jelinek in the second half, as he had only two points in the final 20 minutes.
