Wolverines Find Groove to Down Jets

San Bernardino Valley College's men's basketball team found itself down by seven points early in the game, but chipped away to win a back-and-forth battle over Miramar College 85-77 Wednesday night at SBVC.

Coach Quincy Brewer rotated players in and out of the game looking for the right combination to match up with the Jets. And it paid off, as non-starters Tuele Williams (19), Chris Johnson (16) and Craig LeCesne (12) were three of the four leading scorers for the Wolverines on the night.

San Bernardino Valley led by four at the half, and could only extend the lead to as high as 13, as the Jets hung around. The Jets got back within five points with 2:23 to go, but the Wolverines made their free throws down the stretch to solidify the victory.

Kendall Lauderdale added 13 points and 12 rebound as a key member of the final five for the Wolverines.

The Jets also had four players in double figures, with Dallas Haupt having 15 points.
