In game one of the 5th annual Hunter Classic SBVC faced off with the Pasadena Lancers, and while the Lancers kept it close in the first half, SBVC pulled away early in the second half and cruised into the second round with a 87-68 victory.

Sophomore forward JaCardo Hawkins (Gonzales (LA) East Ascension) led the way for SBVC as he scored 22 points on 10 of 14 shooting and sophomore guard Perris Hicks (Pasadena H.S.) had a huge contribution of 21 points, going 9 for 10 from the free throw line and 2 of 5 from beyond the arc.

On day two of the Hunter Classic, SBVC met up with their old nemesis, the Riverside City Tigers. In a game where SBVC dominated from the tip-off, the home side took a 20-point lead at the half, 50-30, but the Tigers played a much better second half, but it still was not enough as SBVC grabbed a 10-point win, 76-66.

Sophomore guard Nino Jackson (Columbus (GA) Kingdom Prep) led SBVC with 20 points on 6 of 13 shooting, including going 2 for 6 from three-point range, he also had three steals. Hawkins added 10 points and Jolley contributed 10 points, four of SBVC's five starters were in double figures for the victory.

In the Championship game, SBVC collided with the LA Pierce Brahmas, who had knocked off the previously unbeaten Antelope Valley in overtime the night before. The Brahmas grabbed a two point lead at the half, 42-40, but SBVC really stepped up the defense in the second half and took a hard fought victory late, 84-79.

Jolley was named to the All-Tournament team and Hicks was presented with the MVP award.

Jolley led all scorers with 25 points and was an unconscious 15 for 18 from the free throw line, tossing in two blocks for fun and Hicks had 15 points, going 3 for 5 from three-point range and swiping four steals.

Hawkins had 15 points and was a perfect 7 for 7 from the field, grabbing six boards and  freshman guard Ja Morgan (Las Vegas (NV) Palo Verde) added 11 points off of the bench, and was perfect from the line, going 4 for 4.
