SBVC Men’s Basketball: Callison signs letter of intent

SBVC Men's Basketball sophomore guard Charles Callison (Moreno Valley Canyon Springs) has signed a letter of intent to play for Washington State University next season.

Callison was selected the Foothill Conference Most Valuable Player, starting all 31 regular season games for SBVC while averaging 18.0 points per game and shooting 50% (24-48) from beyond three-point range in Conference play.

Under the tutelage of seventh-year coach Quincy Brewer, SBVC Men's Basketball ended the 2014-2015 season claiming their 14th Conference championship, he was awarded for the fourth time as Coach of the Year finishing the regular season, ranked second in the state with a 29-2 overall record and a 10-0 conference record, wrapping up the regular season winning 18 straight games. They were rewarded with the 3 seed in the Southern California Regional Playoffs.

Washington State University is located in Pullman, Washington which is about 7 miles west of the Washington-Idaho border. The WSU Cougars play in Wallis Beasley Coliseum, and the team is coached by first-year coach, Ernie Kent. In the 2014-15 season, the Cougars went 7-11 in conference play, with an overall record of 13-18, finishing 10th. The Cougars last made an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2008, when they made it to the Sweet Sixteen. WSU is in the Pacific Athletic Conference-12 (PAC-12) of NCAA Division One.
