Three Football Players Make Early College Choice

After his record-breaking debut, San Bernardino Valley College football fans knew Jeremy Moussa would not be around for long.

Moussa, an Eastvale Roosevelt High graduate, had returned to Southern California after a year at the University of Hawaii to get his game back in order. He did that in 2019 at SBVC, throwing for a school-record 636 yards and seven touchdowns in his first game en route to the second-best single season by a quarterback in SBVC history - all in nine games.

The quarterback was rewarded Wednesday when he signed his National Letter of Intent to attend Vanderbilt University. He will report to the school in January. He leaves SBVC with the fifth-most passing yards in a career, finishing his one season 199-of-375 for 3,179 yards and 37 touchdowns. He missed the school's best single-season by a quarterback - set in 2018 by Armando Herrera - by a scant 83 yards.

Moussa was not the only player to sign on Wednesday. Defensive lineman Jess Ybarra signed with the University of Sioux Falls. Ybarra (Riverside Poly) led the Wolverines in 2019 with nine sacks and 12 tackles for losses, and was fourth on the team with 43 tackles.

Joining them in commiting on Wednesday was offensive tackle Trey Edwards. Edwards came into the game this season, and will be attending Missouri Southern State University. The 6-11, 305 lineman was crucial in helping protect Moussa and was a first-team all-conference selection.

Three other players joined the ceremony, and are still weighing their options, including Riley Chado, Ben Falck and David Pollard.
