Jeffrey Proctor ran for a season high 173 yards and scored three touchdowns while the San Bernardino Valley College offense racked up 510 yards to open American Conference Mountain Division play with a 49-7 victory over Imperial Valley.

Proctor had touchdown runs of 2 and 46 yards, and returned a kickoff that he muffed 90 yards for his third score of the game. He ended the night with 173 yards on 16 carries.

Meanwhile the SBVC defense had four interceptions and Keion Guyton returned a fumble 30 yards as the Wolverines shut down the Marauders, only allowing 166 yards of offense and a single score for Imperial Valley.

Proctor wasn't the only offensive weapon for the Wolverines. Quarterback Armando Herrera continued his quest to rewrite the SBVC record books, tossing three touchdown passes to tie Jamie Sander for the most touchdown passes in a career for SBVC at 42. Herrera hooked up with Aaron Howard for a 20-yard score on the game's opening drive, then hit DeJuan Moon for a 78-yard pass and run later in the first for a 14-0 lead. Then, in the third quarter, Herrera marched the Wolverines 93 yards in nine plays, completing the last five passes in a row to reach the end zone. Justin Lankford caught the final pass for a 6-yard score, making it 42-7 at the time. Herrera ended the night with 269 yards passing, completing 18 of 35 pass attempts, while throwing two interceptions.

Herrera now stands second all-time in yards passing in a career at SBVC with 3,957, 107 yards behind Sander, who competed at SBVC in 1993-94.

The Wolverines will spend the week preparing to take on undefeated Mt. San Jacinto next Saturday night at home.
