Armando Herrera threw for 415 yards and a school record seven touchdowns as the San Bernardino Valley College football team rolled to a 72-0 victory over Los Angeles Southwest College on Saturday at SBVC Stadium.

The 72-point outburst was the most points scored by the Wolverines in a game in the modern era, but did not eclipse the school record of 116 points scored in a shutout victory over the Indio Fire Department in 1930. The previous modern mark for points scored in a game was 68, set in 2014.

The rout was on from the opening kickoff, as the Wolverines only needed eight plays to go 60 yards on the game's opening drive. Herrera hooked up with Justin Lankford on a 24-yard pass play just 2:47 into the game. The Wolverines needed two plays to go 52 yards on their next drive, as Herrera threw to CJ Harris for a 45-yard score, and Dominic Young's kick made it 14-0. It was the first of three touchdown catches for Harris on the night.

SBVC spread the ball around on offense, with 11 receivers making catches, and five different players getting carries on offense. The Wolverines racked up 615 total yards of offense on the night. Jeffery Proctor ended with 87 yards on nine carries with a touchdown run.

Meanwhile, Herrera was adding his name into more spots in the SBVC record book. The seven touchdown passes is the most in a game by a quarterback and as a team, and his 415 yards is tied for the fourth-most all-time for the Wolverines (tying his own performance from last season). Harris and DeJuan Moon each had three touchdown receptions, which is the second most in a single game by a receiver - joining 16 other players to complete the feat. And kicker Dominic Young converted nine of 10 point after touchdown kicks, tying him for the most in a game by a kicker, tying a record set by Buddy Wellman in 1994.

The Wolverines will close out their nonconference schedule next Saturday at Pasadena City College.
