San Bernardino Valley College placed four players on the All-State Region IV team as released Friday by the California Community College Athletic Association.

Leading the way in the selections was the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference’s offensive player of the year, Armando Herrera (Redlands East Valley). A freshman, Herrera threw for 2,169 yards and 16 touchdowns in the 2017 season. He only played in nine games, throwing for more than 300 yards in four of them.

Catching Herrera’s passes led to two of his wide receivers earning All-State nods. Kellen Pachot (Citrus Valley) and Brian Boyd Jr. (Lafayette/St. Louis, Mo.). Jeffrey Proctor (Munster, Ind.) earned a spot on the team as an all-purpose player.

Boyd, a freshman, caught 46 passes for 710 yards and five scores on the season. Pachot, a converted quarterback, had 42 catches for 630 yards and six touchdowns for the Wolverines.

Proctor was the Wolverines’ lead running back. The freshman carried the ball 88 times for 369 yards, and caught 15 passes for 118 yards. He had three touchdowns on the season.
