SBVC Football: Epperson signs letter of intent

SBVC Football sophomore quarterback Daniel Epperson (Phelan Serrano) has signed his letter of intent with Delaware State University.

Epperson, a second team All-Mountain Conference selection, who became the leading career passer in SBVC Football history with 4485 yards, had the top completion percentage in the Conference, completing 60.7% of his passes. He started all 11 games for SBVC in 2015, with three games of 300+ yards of passing and three 4 touchdown games. He also finished top three in completions, attempts, yards, yards per game, and touchdowns.

Under second-year coach John Shipp, SBVC finished with a record 9-2 overall and 6-1 in conference. As a reward for winning the American Division-Mountain Conference title and going to the Golden State Bowl, Coach Shipp was handed Coach of the Year honors. SBVC was an offensive juggernaut, ranked throughout the year as a top three scoring team in the state at 41.4 points per game.

Delaware State University is located in the state capital of Dover, Delaware, which is about 90 miles east of Washington, D.C. The DSU Hornets play at Alumni Stadium, and the team is coached by first-year coach, Kenny Carter. In the 2015 season, the Hornets went 1-7 in conference play, with an overall record of 1-10. DSU competes in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference of NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS).
