Special Events Highlight First Two SBVC Football Games

The San Bernardino Valley College football team will open its 2017 schedule with two special events at the new SBVC Stadium.

The Wolverines will open the regular season Sept. 2 at home against perennial power Mt. San Antonio College at 6 p.m. The game will be preceded by a pre-game celebration on the mall behind the stadium featuring information booths, food trucks and other events. The stadium will officially open at 5 p.m. featuring a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the first game at the new facility.

One week later, SBVC will pay tribute to the school?s 1982 State Championship team with a special halftime ceremony. The 1982 team is the only unbeaten and untied team in school history, defeating Riverside City College in the Lions Bowl to secure the championship. More than 40 members of that squad are planning to return to SBVC for a 35th Anniversary Celebration of that team.

San Bernardino Valley?s home schedule also includes games against Los Angeles Southwest (Sept. 22), San Diego Mesa (Oct. 14) and Victor Valley College (Nov. 4). Tickets for all home games are $10 for general admission, $8 for ages 12 and younger and 65 and older and free for children 3 and younger.
