SBVC to Face New Football Foes in 2018

The San Bernardino Valley College football team will renew its rivalry with Riverside City College under the 2018 football schedule announced by the Southern California Football Association.

The Wolverines will play in the newly reconfigured American Division Mountain League for the 2018 and 2019 seasons. Joining SBVC in the American Mountain League for the next two seasons will be Antelope Valley College, Citrus College, College of the Desert, Mt. San Jacinto College and Victor Valley College.

Another major change in the schedule is the placement of the division crossover games. Instead of opening the season against a team from the opposite division, teams will play their crossover game in week three.

The Wolverines will open the 2018 season on the road, with games Sept. 1 at Santa Ana and Sept. 8 at Santa Barbara. The first home game is set for 6 p.m. Sept. 15 against Riverside. It will be the first meeting between the two schools since 2011. Also on the nonleague schedule for the Wolverines will be home against Los Angeles Southwest on Sept. 22 and at Pasadena on Sept. 29.

SBVC will open Mountain League play on Oct. 13 with Antelope Valley, before hosting Mt. San Jacinto on Oct. 20. The Wolverines will close the season at home against Desert on Nov. 10, with visits to Citrus (Oct. 27) and Victor Valley (Nov. 3) in between.
